Using her own life story, Melissa will encourage & inspire young women to dream big & to never give up.
Growing up in a home with domestic violence, Melissa had to overcome many challenges from a very young age. In her last year of high school, Melissa found herself pregnant with her first child at the age of 16. Despite constantly being told that she had ruined her life and that her life was now over, Melissa was determined to not let these comments define her life – or her baby’s.
She continued her schooling and graduated when she was 7 months pregnant. Then she went to uni with a toddler in tow and eventually qualified as a Registered Nurse before doing further training to become a midwife. She worked in these roles for many years, encouraging new mums and helping get families off to a good start.
In 2015, Melissa founded A Brave Life, a charity that supports young women in her community.
With a motto of Dream it, Believe it, Achieve it, Melissa will cover topics on self worth, the importance of goal setting & ways to overcome the challenges & obstacles that prevent people from achieving their dreams.
Each student will receive a Dare to Dream Big card plus an inspirational quote card.
